We need YOU to make our $20,000 goal. The City of Cincinnati budget negotiations resulted in a 40% reduction in Human Service funding. Instead of an anticipated and budgeted City grant of $28,000, CAIN is receiving $16,600.
We need YOUR help to make this year’s “Hunger Walk” our biggest fundraiser ever to help make up this loss of income. CAIN is a member neighborhood agency in Freestore Foodbank Hunger Walk & 5K Run on Monday, May 30 @ 9am at Sawyer Point. (Same day registration 7am to 9:50am)
Every dollar donated goes directly to providing food and necessities to your neighbors in need. The $20 registration is 100 pounds of food or 780 meals.
With your help, CAIN can continue to serve record numbers of Northsiders and those who live in other parts of the 45223 zip code.
In 2010, CAIN provided over 1333 unduplicated households of 2025 adults and 1532 children with some type of emergency assistance. CAIN served households food and household and hygiene 4198 times and diapers 757 times. 545 people got bus tokens. 219 families received rent or utility help. 185 received fans and 10 air conditioners. 153 children received birthday gifts. 47 families were referred for baby items or furniture. In addition, another 504 households participated in special food distributions. 16 families received a raised bed garden and 42 received a vegetable container garden. 374 households shopped at the Secret Angel Shop.
